At the start of the day not too many people would have
picked Australia to play Finland in the Men's Teams event
at World Cup XV. In the semi finals, Finland defeated
The Netherlands 9 - 6. The Finish Team were in great
form all day accounting for England 9 - 0 in the round
robin early in the day to finish No.1 in that group after
other wins over Switzerland and South Africa. They then
defeated Malaysia 9 - 5, and Northern Ireland 9 - 3 to
make the semi finals.
Australia topped their group with wins over Japan 9
- 0 and Germany 9 - 3. On their way through to the semi
finals they defeated New Zealand 9 - 4 and Scotland 9
- 4. In the semi finals they defeated England 9 - 8 to
set up the Final.
This Final will be the last match played on stage on
Saturday.
