Queensland Girls grab another title.

DFAThe success of the Queensland Girls Darts Team (left) continued on again today at the 26th Australian Junior Darts Championships at the Mounties Club in Mount Pritchard. They proved too strong and consistent for every other team. New South Wales came out on top in the Boy's competition.

The Australian World Youth Cup was introduced the Australian Junior Darts Championships for the first time in 2007. The format is similar to the Peter McMenamin Cup played at Senior Australian Darts Championships with the only difference being each State has only one Team. The new event was very successful with every player really enjoying the concept of the game and the quick pace at which the event went a long. Every player had plenty of darts to throw.

DFABrie Peters, Raylee Parsons, Chelsea Owens and Kayla Kennedy again showed the darting prose in winning another event at this year Australian Junior Darts Championships. They were able to hold off any challenge that was put up to them today. They completed the round robin event undefeated but it took to the last round to claim the title. The New South Wales Girls Team (right) was also playing brilliant darts winning all the first four rounds. They met Queensland in the final round and fought valiantly against them early in this match. After ten or so legs, the match was pretty tight until the Queensland girls won a few quick legs to win the match 9 - 6. That was the closest challenge Queensland had for the day in this match, as they destroyed all the other teams they played.

The battle for third place was decided on legs won difference. Three teams finished up with two wins each. Western Australia won the battle with 2 wins and 33 legs from South Australia with 2 wins and 30 legs and Victoria with 2 wins and 28 legs. Unfortunately the Tassie girls could not get a win on the board finishing in 6th place.

The better performing players in this event were Emily Austin and Kylee Walker from New South Wales, Brie Peters, Raylee Parsons from Queensland, Codie Halliwell and Sharni Evans from South Australia, Krissy Smith from Western Australia and Lauren Seabourne from Tasmania.

DFARight from the start of the Boy's event New South Wales (left) looked like the Team to beat. Queensland were just as impressive early winning their matches strongly. In the third round these two teams met and it was New South Wales that won this contest 9 - 6. Mitchell Clegg, Luke Sipple, Cameron Greenham, James Gregory and Guy Holland all played great darts all day and finished off the competition undefeated. They had some very narrow wins though. Tie-breakers were required to find the winner between the New South Wales Team when they played Western Australia South Australia and Tasmania. Winning those three tie breakers was crucial in winning the title.

DFAQueensland (right) finished in second place with 4 wins and 43 legs, Western Australia third with 3 wins and 39 legs, South Australia fourth Tasmania fifth and Victoria sixth. Tasmania must have felt they were robbed a bit today. They won a round against Victoria and lost 9 - 4 to South Australia. In the remaining four rounds they lost all of them in tie breakers. If they had won all of those tie breakers, they could have easily won this event.

Player to shine in today's event were Mitchell Clegg from New South Wales, Robert Carpanoni and Gavin Dann from Western Australia, Nathan Paice and Harlee Chauntler from Queensland and Sean Methven from Tasmania and Bradley Vine from South Australia
