The 26th Puma Australian Junior Darts Championships were opened at 9.00am. New South Wales Darts Council MC Tara Vellanff welcomed everyone and introduced the dignitaries in attendance. The Parade of Flags followed:

DFAThe MC then introduced Nicki Boyd who sang the National Anthem.

Mounties Club President then address those in attendance highlighting that the Club was very Community orientated. He told that this was the best club in New South Wales and he finished off by wishing everyone the best of luck.

New South Wales President Patrick Fletcher welcomed all to Mounties. He then thanked Chris Delbridge and the Junior Movement for all their hard work and commitment.

Dot Shipman representing New South Wales Juniors welcomed everyone. She congratulated all the players on making their State Teams and also thanked Mounties Club for all of their support and help.


Introduced next was Betty Hislop, Darts Federation of Australia Vice President. She also welcomed everyone to the 26th Australian Junior Darts Championships and wished them all the very best of luck. She also stated that for the very first time the Australian Youth Team to represent Australia in the Netherlands in October 2007 would be named at the conclusion of these Championships.


DFA The Mayor of Fairfield City Nick Latich (right) then addressed those attending. He welcomed everyone to Fairfield City and that there was some great shopping to be had at Cabramatta. He thanked the NSW Junior Darts Council for all of their hard work at making these a great Championships. A dart player many years ago himself, he expressed his great pleasure in having these Championships in Mount Pritchard at the Mounties Club - "The Club of the Year". He highlighted what the area has to offer and was proud of the Community of Fairfield and especially the Mounties Club for getting right behind these Championships on presenting a great environment for these Championships.


DFAAs with the tradition of all Australian Darts Championships the Mayor was asked to officially open the Championships by throwing the first three darts. NSW junior player and 2006 Australian Singles Champion Mitchell Clegg handed him a set of darts and was lead into the competition room. He officially opened the games and the three darts he threw, well the result is pictured left.
