The  BDO is also proud to confirm that the most prestigious Championship in World Darts will once again be  televised by BBC TV SPORT  for the nine consecutive days of the World Championships, and will carry combined prize money of £215,000 for the Men‘s and Women’s World Championships. There will be an additional £64,000 on offer for a 9-dart 501 scored during the televised stages (£52,000 for the men and £12,000 for the women).  This totals to an available prize fund of £279,000 – the highest ever prize fund in world darts.




Reigning Champion TONY DAVID of Australia will be returning to defend his title, and back by right will be 2002 runner-up MERVYN KING (England) and losing Semi-Finalists COLIN MONK (England) and MARTIN ADAMS (England).

In the EMBASSY WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP double World Champion TRINA GULLIVER (England) will be aiming to make it a unique hat-trick of Embassy World titles in 2003.

Staged and promoted by the British Darts Organisation, the 2003 Embassy World Professional Darts Championship is sponsored by IMPERIAL TOBACCO LTD.
