Opening to the 27th Australian Darts Championships,
Croatian Club, Adelaide
The SADC President, Ron Miller, introduced the official party, the Attorney General and Minister for Multicultural, the Hon. Michael Atkinson, the Secretary of the Croatian Function Centre, Danica Turcinov, the DFA President, Allan Hutchinson, and Secretary Lynn Gilmore. He welcomed all States to Adelaide and the 27th Australian Darts Championships and thanked Rachel Gough, Mavis and John Nicholson and all the volunteers for their work to bring these championships to fruition.
This was followed by all singing of the National Anthem, and then the anthem was sung by the Lenek Dance Group in Croatian.
Dot McLeod and Tony David, carrying the DFA flag lead the procession of flag bearers for their States:

Danica welcomed all to the Croatian Function Centre and wished all players a good championship.
This year South Australian Rachel Gough took the oath on behalf of all the official and volunteers and Peter Machin took the Players oath on behalf of all players to unite the working relationship between all.
Minister Atkinson, spoke about his connection with the Croatian Club, the origin of darts and the players who played in the early years and introduced two of the players who were in the team Brian Machin & Alice Clothier. There was a standing ovation. The Minister then opened the 27th Darts Championships with the traditional throwing of the darts.
The night continued with players, officials, volunteers and guests catching up on old friends and making new ones.
