The Most Unluckiest Dart Player in Australia

Anita TapauPictured right is one of the most unluckiest dart players at an Australian Darts Championships. This is Anita Tapau, she lives in Townsville and she has represented Queensland at five Australian Darts Championships. She is a great lady with a fantastic personality and she enjoys a good laugh like everyone else.

Kath ClemsonAt the 2004 Australian Darts Championships in Canberra, two ladies finished off a leg of darts with a 170 pegout. The first was by Kath Clemson (left) from the ACT in the Peter McMenamin Cup. In the her first match in round seven she managed to finish from 170 while her opponent was sitting on 160.

Kerry Jacobs threw the second 170 pegout. Now Kerry has been around at this level for many years. She has represented NSW at Australian Darts Championships on thirteen occasions, she has been ranked number one in Australia, she has won many state and open tournaments and on Wednesday last week she hit the perfect pegout. It was the second round of the Australian Ladies Teams event and NSW were playing Queensland. Yes, if you have not guessed by now, Kerry (bottom) was playing Anita Tapau and it was the deciding leg in the singles. Anita was pretty close to the double when Jacobs knocked in the 170 pegout.

There were two 170 pegouts this year, both in the ladies events and both against Anita Tapau. How unlucky is that?

Kerry Jacobs
