David Wins Swedish Open Doubles 
Tony David partnered Raymond Van Barneveld to win the Swedish Open
Pairs in Stockholm last weekend. The final was a one sided match.
They defeated the English pairing of Darryl Fitton and Tony Eccles
4 – 0 in the Final.
 In the semi finals Barneveld & David (pictured left) played
another pair of Englishmen in Mervyn King and John Walton. They
won that contest
3 – 1 while Fitton & Eccles defeated the Dutch
pair or Andre Brantjes and
Mario Robbe
3 – 2.
Crissy Howat and Sandra Smith took out the Ladies Doubles. The English pair was
too strong in a close final defeating the defending Champions in Trina Gulliver
(England) and Francis Hoenselaar (Netherlands) 4 – 3.
Losing semi finalists were Clare Bywaters (Eng)/Karin Krappen
(Neth) and
Barbara Lee (Eng)/Carina Ekberg (Swe).
Men’s Singles
On Saturday the 29th of November Raymond of Barneveld the Dutch
super star was victorious in winning the 2003 Swedish Open.
More world ranking points here for Barneveld as this was a
perfect warm up for the next big darts tournament in the Doeland
Grand Masters. The three times Embassy Champion won the title
when he defeated the 2001 Embassy Champion Ted Henkey. The
Englishman could not match Barneveld in the final losing 4
– 2. It was the first meeting between the No1 and No2 players
in the world since the semi finals in the Dutch Open back in
February.
In the semi finals Barneveld was too strong for Australia’s
Tony David.
David played well throughout the tournament but lost
this match 3 – 2. Ted Hankey made the final when he defeated
Tony West.

Ladies Singles
Belgian darts star Sandra Pollet won the Ladies Open Singles.
She defeated the Dutch No1 in Francis Hoenselaar. Hoenselaar
lost the final in this event last year as well losing to Trina
Gulliver. Netherlands Roelie Bakker and Clare Bywaters from
England missed out in the semi finals.
