Competition is started with 24 players (up eight players from
last year) competing in groups of three. Eight groups in all
participating, with the winner of each group progressing to
the quarterfinals. In the round robin, the players play best
of 9 x 501. The playing conditions then change to playing sets.
Quarterfinals are best of 5 sets 5 x 501, semifinals best of
7 sets 5 x 501 and the final best of 11 sets 5 x 501.
Matches commence on the Friday evening at 8.00pmwith Dutch
players Raymond Barneveld up against Vincent van der Voort.
 David is playing in Group 8 against
Ted Hankey and Tony Eccles.
He plays his first game Saturday afternoon against Tony Eccles
and Ted Hankey on Saturday evening.
